Dr. Simmons is board-certified in radiation oncology. He specializes in all types of radiation therapy for cancer patients including IGRT, VMAT, IMRT, 3D conformal radiation therapy, unsealed sources for patients with thyroid cancer and painful bone metastasis, and treatments combined with chemotherapy. His professional interest includes management of targeted radiation therapy which protects the normal tissues from radiation and decreases the risk of damage to the adjacent organs while treating the cancerous tumor cells. Dr. Simmons has special interests in the following areas of treatment: breast, prostate, rectal, lung, head and neck, gynecological, brain, pancreatic, skin and tumors of the spine.
