Spring is officially here but with this year’s mild winter it feels like the season started a few weeks ago. Warmer temperatures have trees and flowers around the Bluegrass blooming and that means seasonal allergies will soon begin to take their toll.

There are a few ways you can get ahead of the spring allergy season and fight those symptoms before they start:
  • Know what triggers your allergies
  • Start your allergy medication(s) now
  • Stay consistent with your medication(s)
  • Nasal washes can be helpful
  • Monitor pollen counts

If you spend time outside it’s also a good idea to change your clothes when you come inside to avoid tracking the pollen all over your house.

There are several options when it comes to treating your seasonal allergies including over the counter, prescription and immunotherapy treatments. To learn more about your options you can schedule an appointment with a Lexington Clinic allergist by calling (859) 258-4520 or visit us at LexingtonClinic.com/allergy.
