New Patients

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment to complete all registration forms. If you have copies of your child's medical records, please bring them to your appointment. The most important document is your child's immunization record; if you do not have a current copy, please make arrangements to get a copy from your previous pediatrician.

Check-ups

Please call to schedule your child's well-child visits at least 4-6 weeks in advance. This is especially important in the summer months.

Appointment Times

Patients are seen by appointment only. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time for established patients and 30 minutes prior if you are a new patient.

Weekend Appointments

Saturday and Sunday morning sick visits available by appointment only. Please call our office at +1 (859) 258-4151 to check availability. All weekend sick visits are seen at our Lexington Clinic Beaumont facility located at 3085 Lakecrest Circle, Lexington, KY 40513, which has on-site laboratory services and X-ray. Due to limited appointment times, we regret that we cannot do well-child check-ups or routine immunizations on the weekends.

Phone Calls

We answer our phones from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. If you have general questions regarding your child's healthcare, requests for medication refills or immunization records, please call during regular office hours. For urgent/emergent questions after hours or on the weekends, please call +1 (859) 258-4000 and ask the operator to transfer you to the nurse on call.

Medication Refill

Notify our office at least 3 days in advance for any medication refill requests. By law, medicines for the treatment of ADHD cannot be called into the pharmacies. For these medications, you may either visit the office to pick up the prescription, or it can be mailed to you. Please allow ample time for these refills.

Medical Records

If you need copies of your medical record, please contact Lexington Clinic's main medical record department at +1 (859) 258-4837. You will need to fill out a medical release form. If you need only a copy of your child's immunization record, please call the physician's office during regular office hours.

Office Visits

Prenatal/Newborns

We encourage all expecting moms new to the practice to visit us for a complimentary prenatal consult to meet our staff and get a feel for how our practice operates. Topics typically discussed include office policies, newborn care, follow-up after the birth and procedures for after-hours calls and emergencies.

Delivery

Our physicians have privileges at KentuckyOne Health Saint Joseph East and Baptist Health Lexington Hospitals. Our physicians take turns at the hospital for newborns.  When your child is born they will be seen by the doctor who is covering newborns that day.

Newborn Check-up

Depending upon several factors, most newborns are seen 1-7 days after discharge from the hospital. How soon your baby needs to be seen will be depend upon whether you're breast or bottle feeding, any complications with labor/delivery and if there is any jaundice present. The follow-up visit will be determined by the doctor seeing newborns prior to discharge.

Baby's First Visit

The first visit to the doctor can be challenging for new parents. Getting ready and going to the office can take more time than you think, so plan ahead. Please arrive 30 minutes in advance for paper work. Our staff makes every effort to accommodate you and your baby as quickly as possible. Some new parents find it helpful to have someone accompany them for assistance.

Infant Well-Child Checks

For the first year, you may feel like you are always at the doctor's office. We routinely do well-child visits at 2 weeks or 4 weeks, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months. It gets a little easier after their first birthday; we will do check-ups at 15 months and 18 months. Starting at age 2, most children are seen yearly. So why all the visits? Babies are very busy their first year they gain weight and develop new skills, sometimes seemingly overnight. Most visits also include immunizations.
