Are you at risk for lung cancer?

« Return to News

Lung cancer is Kentucky’s leading cause of cancer-related deaths. In fact, in Kentucky lung cancer kills more people than the next eight most common cancers combined. Lexington Clinic offers lung cancer screenings for patients to determine their individual risk of developing this deadly disease.

Criteria for lung screenings include:

  • Adults age 55-80 years old* who:
    • Currently have a 30 pack-year cigarette smoking history;
    • Currently smoke or have quite within the past 15 years;
    • Currently are asymptomatic and have no signs or symptoms of lung cancer
*If you are 55-77 years old and have Medicare coverage, you may qualify to receive this screening at no cost to you.

To determine if you are eligible for a lung cancer screening, or for more information, please call Lexington Clinic’s Lung Program Nurse Navigator, Debbie Smart, LPN, at 859.258.4062 or visit LexingtonClinic.com/lungs.
