SERVICES

Dr. Ashmun is board-certified in Internal Medicine. He provides services in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy including: colonoscopy with biopsy, polypectomy; upper endoscopy with biopsy, band ligation of varices, dilation of esophagus and pylorus, argon plasma coagulation/ablation angiodysplasia; PEG placement/replacement; ERCP with sphincterotomy, stent placement, stone removal; wireless small bowel capsule endoscopy (Pillcam); flexible sigmoidoscopy with biopsy, polypectomy; esophageal pH monitoring; esophageal manometry and Barrett’s esophagus. He provides care for patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal diseases including: GERD, eosinophilic esophagitis, swallowing disorders, peptic ulcer disease, dyspepsia, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, constipation/diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, small intestine bacterial overgrowth, biliary and pancreatic diseases including gallstones and pancreatitis, and liver disease, including steatohepatitis (fatty liver), autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, hemochromatosis, hepatitis C and hepatitis B. Dr. Ashmun’s professional interests include diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, as well as the care of patients with diverse gastrointestinal disorders including esophageal diseases, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, and chronic liver disease.
