Lexington Clinic Celebrates 90 Years in Business with Community Service Project and an Evening of Fun

Lexington Clinic, Central Kentucky’s oldest and largest multi-specialty medical group, turned 90 this year. To celebrate this incredible milestone, Lexington Clinic launched a community service initiative, known as the 90 Hours/90 Days Volunteer Challenge, as a way to give back to our community and to show our appreciation to generations of patients who have entrusted us with their healthcare.

The goal of the project, which began on May 1 and ran through July 29, was for each of Lexington Clinic’s 16 teams of 10 volunteers to provide 90 hours of service in 90 days to a local charity or community organization.

In all, Lexington Clinic’s volunteer groups provided more than 1,500 hours of service to 9 local organizations, including:

  • Child Development Center of the Bluegrass
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • The Lexington Humane Society
  • Urban County Government Parks and Recreation
  • Florence Crittenton Home
  • Woodford County Humane Society
  • Lexington Rescue Mission
  • God's Pantry
  • The Ronald McDonald House

Services performed included gathering donations and supplies, teaching life-skills classes, providing meals, and offering facility cleaning, maintenance and beautification. Along with the work of the individual teams, Lexington Clinic also held a corporate food drive for God’s Pantry, collecting more than 1,500 pounds of food for the God’s Pantry Emergency Food Box Program.

In addition to the community service initiative, an evening celebration was held at the Red Mile for employees and physicians to commemorate the occasion and to thank them for their years of dedication and service to our patients and community. The roaring 20s style celebration was an evening to remember, with attendees enjoying delicious food by Bayou Bluegrass Catering, tastings by several local vendors, a performance and dance lessons by Fred Astaire Dance Studio, fantastic music by Dan Jackson and Magic, a 1920s costume contest and a spectacular firework show! Also included was an employee arts and crafts expo, which encouraged all Lexington Clinic employees to showcase their artistic talents and drew nearly 90 entries.

Lexington Clinic has committed 90 years to caring for your health and looks forward to providing the highest quality patient care to Central and Eastern Kentucky for the next 90 years.
