About Us

Founded in 1959, Lexington Clinic Foundation is a non-profit organization that funds many important programs each year, giving hope to the people in our community by supporting medical education, research, and scholarships.

Lexington Clinic Foundation has been funding local organizations since 2009. In 2011, LCF granted funds to the following projects:

  • Baby Health Services is a pediatric health clinic that provides free medical care to children whose families are ineligible for a medical card, yet cannot afford health insurance.
  • Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program is an advocacy agency committed to ending intimate partner abuse and its impact on families and the community.
  • Central Kentucky Radio Eye is a non-profit organization that provides radio reading service via a closed circuit radio system which broadcasts throughout Central Kentucky and is designed to fill an information void for blind and other disabled people. LCF funding will help to provide a 24 hour a day radio program for blind and disabled individuals.
  • Chrysalis House is Kentucky’s oldest and largest licensed substance abuse treatment program for women and their children. LCF funding will provide medical care, prescription assistance, dental examinations and cleanings, and psychiatric care to the women and children of Chrysalis House.
  • Lexington Hearing & Speech Center teaches children with hearing, speech and language impairments to listen and talk by providing them with high quality educational, therapeutic and family support services.
  • Lexington Rescue Mission works with the poor and homeless. In addition to providing hot meals, clothing, and financial assistance, the Rescue Mission provides free health care for the uninsured.
  • Nathaniel Mission Free Health Clinic provides a broad range of high quality health care services, focusing on prevention of chronic diseases by patient education. Through the volunteer efforts of medical professionals, the services include medical examinations, vision examinations, nursing service, audiology exams, podiatry, laboratory/diagnostic services, prescription assistance, diabetes support/counseling, dental examinations and dental hygiene.
  • New Opportunity School for Women is a program that helps women in Appalachia become better educated and employed. Twice a year, women participate in a three-week residential program that provides an intensive curriculum, dental and health education, screenings and exams, professional internships, and weekend activities for cultural enrichment and civic engagement.

In addition to the community projects, Lexington Clinic Foundation awarded 24 Allied Health scholarships to Central Kentucky students through the Fergus Hanson Memorial Scholarship fund. Also, Lexington Clinic Foundation has directly produced Love Your Skin, a widely publicized Skin Cancer Awareness campaign.
