| Military Experience Dr. Larsenís military service has included a three-year assignment as a Flight Surgeon for Air Force Special Operations Command in Europe, and multiple deployments including operations in Bosnia, Israel, Eastern Europe, Tibet, and West Africa. He has spent the last 6 years stationed at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where in addition to performing Hand Surgery he has held positions as Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery, Deputy Chief of the Medical Staff, Flight Commander for Inpatient and Emergency Services, and Deputy Squadron Commander for Medical Operations. Dr. Larsen was the only military Hand Surgeon in his region encompassing six Air Force Bases and Fort Carson and he has performed multiple reconstructive surgeries on soldiers wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. Most recently he completed a deployment to Kirkuk, in Northern Iraq where he lead a Forward Surgical Team treating combat-wounded patients. |
