Our Physicians

Tamara James, MDDr. James has been in private practice in Lexington since completing medical school and her residency at the University of Louisville in 1991. She has been associated with Saint Joseph East Hospital since it was purchased in 1998 and joined Lexington Clinic in 2000.
Dr. James is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has served in numerous leadership positions within the Lexington Clinic OBGYN department, medical staff and Saint Joseph East Hospital Board. She has been recognized multiple years by her peers as one of America's Best Doctors and was recently recognized as Physician of the Year by Saint Joseph East Hospital.
Dr. James performs laparoscopic and da Vinci® robotic surgeries and treats infertility patients. She works within the multi-specialty clinic model to provide comprehensive healthcare to patients.
Robert B. Thompson, MDDr. Thompson is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He
provides services in general gynecology, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, loop
electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP), menopausal counseling,
osteoporosis counseling. Dr. Thompson's professional interests include
general gynecology including colposcopy, osteoporosis counseling,
hysteroscopy, LEEP, and menopausal counseling.
Amelia E. Hendrickson, APRNAmelia Hendrickson is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She provides services in prenatal care, STD screening, urinary incontinence, routine gynecology and obstetrics, and minimally invasive and in-office gynecological procedures. Amelia Hendrickson’s professional interests include general gynecology, contraceptive management, and routine obstetrical care.
Kimberly East, APRNKimberly East is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She provides services in prenatal care, STD screening, urinary incontinence, routine gynecology and obstetrics, and minimally invasive and in-office gynecological procedures. Kimberly East’s professional interests include general gynecology, contraceptive management, patient education and routine obstetrical care.
