ANNUAL EXAM
It is very important that every woman have an annual exam every year. Your exam will consist of a pap smear of your cervix, breast exam, and pelvic exam. This is also a great time to get refills of your medication and talk about any issues or concerns that you may have.

FAMILY PLANNING
We understand that timing is everything. Therefore, we can offer reversible contraceptive options such as:

Reversible Contraception Options:
  • Oral Contraceptives (Birth Control Pills)
  • Transdermal Contraceptives (Skin Patch)
  • Contraceptive Injections: Contraceptive injections are administered every 11-12 weeks
  • Intra-Uterine Devices: (Mirena and Paragard) Birth control devices that are inserted into the uterus and provide long term but not permanent birth control.
  • Implant: (Implanon) Small implantable birth control that is inserted in the upper arm.
Permanent Sterilization:
We perform two methods of permanent sterilization; larparoscopy and minimally invasive (Essure and Adiana.) Laparoscopy is the basic method commonly referred to as "tying the tubes." The new minimally invasive methods are done through the vagina without an incision. Both types of permanent sterilization are performed at our out-patient surgery facility.

GYNECOLOGIC SURGERY
Colposcopy
Colposcopy is an in-office procedure that is done when a pap smear result shows abnormal changes in the cells of the cervix. The procedure is very similar to a pap smear, only the doctor uses a colposcope, which is very similar to a microscope, to look at your cervix. If the doctor sees an abnormal area, a biopsy may be done and sent off for testing.
DaVinci Robotic Surgery
The da Vinci Surgical System is a state-of-the-art robotic technology which allows for a less invasive approach than traditional surgery. The System allows the surgeon’s hand movements to be scaled, filtered and translated into precise movements by micro-instruments within the operative site. The da Vinci Surgical System is designed
to help surgeons see vital anatomical structures more clearly and perform more precise surgical procedures. For most patients, da Vinci surgery offers numerous potential benefits over traditional open surgery, including:
  • Significantly less pain
  • Less blood loss
  • Fewer complications
  • Less scarring
  • A shorter hospital stay
Hysteroscopy
Hysteroscopy allows your doctor to see the inside of the uterus using a hysteroscope that is inserted into the vagina. It can be used to diagnose and treat medical problems that cause abnormal uterine bleeding and/or heavy bleeding. This procedure can often be performed in the office.
Hysterectomy
Hysterectomy is the surgical removal of part or all of the uterus and is sometimes coupled with removal of the ovaries and fallopian tubes. This major surgery is done at the hospital. It is done to treat conditions that affect the uterus such as fibroids, endometriosis, uterine prolapse, abnormal uterine bleeding, cancer, and chronic pelvic pain.
Laparoscopy
Laparoscopy is a type of outpatient surgery done using very small incisions. Using a laparoscope, your physician can look inside of your abdomen and pelvic area to find out what is causing problems such as pain, bleeding, or difficulty getting pregnant.
LEEP
(Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure) LEEP is an outpatient, sometimes in-office, procedure that is performed to treat cervical dysplasia that can be found on your pap smear and a cervical biopsy. The doctor uses a thin wire loop (LEEP) that acts as a scalpel. An electric current is passed through the loop which cuts away a thin layer of the surface cell on the cervix.
Permanent Sterilization
We perform two methods of permanent sterilization; laparoscopy and Essure. Laparoscopy is the basic method that is commonly referred to as "tying the tubes". The new Essure method is done through the vagina therefore there are no incisions.
Uterine Ablation
Ablation is a procedure that treats heavy, abnormal uterine bleeding. We use a device that permanently hinders the growth of the endometrial lining which stops bleeding.

MEMOPAUSAL COUNSELING/CARE FOR WOMEN OVER 50

RECLAST INFUSION FOR OSTEOPOROSIS
Reclast is a once yearly medication that is given through an IV for the treatment of osteoporosis. The infusion takes about an hour from start to finish, making it a very easy and relaxing visit.
