The Ambulatory Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art AAAHC accredited outpatient surgery center providing surgical and endoscopic procedures in the following specialties:

Patient Information Instructions
Please read these instructions carefully. Cancellation of the procedure can occur if these instructions are not observed. If you must cancel your procedure we require 48 hours notice.

Before Your Surgery or Procedure
  • Please make sure you provide a current phone number to our staff, because you will be contacted prior to your procedure for instructions.
  • Arrange for transportation before and 12 to 24 hours post surgery. Also, arrange for someone to care for you for 12 to 24 hours following surgery.
  • Patients under 18 years of age must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Legal guardians should bring documented proof of guardianship for adults and children.
  • Notify your physician if there is a change in your physical condition before your procedure, such as a cold or fever, or if you are allergic to Latex.
  • Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your procedure including food, liquids, water, gum, candy, or tobacco.
  • Do not take any medication after midnight the day of your procedure unless instructed by your physician or the Surgery Center. If you are a diabetic or are taking blood pressure or heart medications, obtain specific instructions from your physician or contact the Surgery Center.
On the Day of Your Surgery/Procedure
  • Wear loose fitting comfortable clothing.
  • Leave all jewelry, piercings, and other valuables at home.
  • You must have a driver accompany you to your appointment and stay during your procedure.
  • Bring appropriate storage cases for dentures, hearing aids, glasses, and contact lenses.
  • Bring an accurate list of medications and dosages including over the counter medicine and herbal supplements. (This will include all suppliments, vitamins, over-the-counter medication and prescription medication.)
After Your Surgery/Procedure
  • You will be given specific instructions regarding your post-operative care including your doctor’s orders for diet, rest, medication, and activity. It is not unusual to feel a little sleepy or dizzy for several hours after you return home.
  • Please have a responsible adult to help you and do not sign any important papers or make significant decisions for at least 24 hours following your procedure.
  • Do not attempt to drive, operate dangerous machinery, or drink alcoholic beverages for 12 to 24 hours after your procedure.
Financial and Insurance Information
The facility fee covers the use of the Lexington Clinic Ambulatory Surgery Center, from the pre-operative phase through the procedure room and recovery phase. As a courtesy we will file your insurance if applicable. The insurance agreement you have is between you and your insurance company. You may be billed separately for the following services: Your physician or surgeon, Your anesthesiologist, Lab tests, EKG, radiology, and pathology for any specimens removed during the procedure

We will make every effort to obtain prior authorization from your insurance company. However, if we are unable to obtain prior authorization and you elect to have a procedure performed, you will be responsible for payment of the procedure / service. You will be given an estimate of any out-of-pocket amounts you may incur, based upon information provided to us by your insurance carrier and the procedure expected to be performed, as well as any deposit and/or co-insurance that is required to be collected on the day of your procedure. You may experience cost outside of the estimate that we have provided to you.

You will be contacted by the Surgery Center to make arrangements for payment on the day of the procedure. If we do not reach you by phone or letter, please call us.

Anesthesiology services for our center are provided and managed by Anesthesia Associates. You will receive a separate bill for services provided to you for professional anesthesia services. If your procedure requires anesthesia and you have questions regarding the cost of the anesthesia or the billing procedures, please contact Anesthesia Associates at 859.268.1030.
